When sending money to a bank account, make sure you have this information from your contact:
- Their bank details, including their account number
- Their first and last name (as it appears on their bank account)
- Their complete address
- Their phone number (must be valid, include the area code)
- Their email address (it may be required by our partners)
Additional information to consider before sending money to a bank account in Colombia:
If it’s your contact’s first time accepting an international money transfer, they’ll need to complete a registration process with our partners: Bancolombia, Banco W or Davivienda.
- If you’re sending money with Bancolombia, ensure your contact activated the “Abono Automático” option. Otherwise, the transaction will be available only as cash pick up until they are enrolled. Check Sending to Colombia with Bancolombia for the first time?, or contact Bancolombia if needed.
- If you're sending money with Banco W or through Banco W — including banks such as Banco Caja Social, Colpatria, Banco de Bogota, BBVA Colombia, Banco AV Villas, among others — please ensure the "Formulario de Atención" is completed within 7 business days, either by you or your contact, otherwise your transaction will be cancelled. For more information, check Sending to Colombia with Banco W for the first time?, or contact Banco W if needed.
- If you’re sending money with Davivienda, please ensure your contact has completed their annual data update. This can be done easily by logging into Davivienda’s digital channels (app or website). You can also contact Davivienda, if needed.
