What are the characteristics of an IBAN in Hungary?
IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number and is used by banks in European countries for international money transfers. The IBAN is a unique code that identifies a beneficiary’s bank account.
In Hungary, IBANs start with HU, followed by 2 check digits, a 3-digit bank code, a 4-digit branch code, and a 15-digit account number. Here's an example:
HU42 1177 3016 1111 1018 0000 0000
HU: country code
42: check digits
117: bank code
